2021 GRANT WRITING GOALS

The Year of Reaching Your Grant Writing Goals

It’s a new year and this is the year for finding Grant Writing success! The year 2020 is finally in the history books, and what a chapter it has been! We are welcoming in 2021 with open arms and are ready for a year of health, happiness, and accomplishing new goals. If you don’t have your 2021 grant writing goals established yet, we’re happy to offer some good ones that will help you get on the path to achieving your funding goals this year.

Goal One: Make Grant Writing Your Mission

If you don’t try, you’ll never succeed, and success is built on where you place your priorities. It takes time and effort to source and secure project funding and there really aren’t any shortcuts to doing the work. The sooner you get started, the better off you’ll be in reaching your grant writing goals.

Goal Two: Commit to research. When you know better, you do better!

Get to know the organizations and foundations that best gel with your grant writing and funding needs. The MPS Funding Guide is a great place to start. Make friends with Google. Ask for help from others. Learn and apply that knowledge to make your application stand out to a funding organization that you’ve identified as “high potential” to help you secure the funding you need.

Goal Three: Sharpen Your Writing Skills.

Check out our Member Resource Library for tips and tools you can use! Make sure you stay up to date with all things MPS, we have plenty of resources available and will be releasing information over the upcoming weeks that will help you learn to write a grant that will help get reach your grant writing goals.

Goal Four: Don’t Forget to Follow Up and Follow Through

How you finish (the reporting process) is just as important as obtaining a grant. Provide timely reports and results that are consistent with what you outlined in your initial application.
